Who we are (data controller)

K2 Equity AS (“K2”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of personal data collected via this website and our related services.

This policy is designed to comply with the EU/EEA GDPR and Norway’s Personal Data Act (Personopplysningsloven). Cookie consent is handled under the Electronic Communications Act (ekomloven) § 2-7b.

What we collect

  • Website/technical data: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referral/source, cookies and analytics events.

  • Contact & marketing: name, email, phone, company, and message content when you contact us or sign up for updates.

  • Investor/Client data (where applicable): identification/KYC data, ownership information, sanctions/PEP screening results, and transaction information required by law.

We collect data directly from you, automatically via the site, and from third-party providers (e.g., KYC/AML screening services) where legally required.

Why we use your data and legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)

  • Operate and improve the site/services (legitimate interests).

  • Respond to enquiries / provide requested materials (contract or legitimate interests).

  • Send marketing updates (consent; you can withdraw at any time).

  • Compliance and risk management—including AML/KYC under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (Hvitvaskingsloven), bookkeeping and regulatory reporting (legal obligation).

  • Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests).

If we ever need to process special-category data, we will rely on a GDPR Art. 9 condition (e.g., legal claims) or obtain explicit consent.

Sharing your data

We share personal data with:

  • Processors under contract (hosting, analytics, CRM, email, investor portals, KYC providers).

  • Professional advisers (legal, audit) and authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

International transfers

If data is transferred outside the EEA, we use GDPR Chapter V safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and additional measures where necessary.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal duties:

  • Website/analytics: up to 24 months.

  • Enquiries/marketing: up to 24 months after last contact or until you withdraw consent.

  • Investor/Client & AML/KYC records: at least 5 years (and longer where accounting or legal obligations require).

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege, staff confidentiality). No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
